Pedals and Pints: The Davis Brewery Bike Loop

Like biking? Like beer? Now, you can combine the two on a unique two-wheeled excursion through Davis. The Davis Brewery Bike Loop is a 10-mile route that takes riders to several local craft breweries. It’s a great way to experience two things that are uniquely Davis: biking and craft beer.

Davis is known as the bike capital of the United States, so it’s no wonder biking and beer is a thing here. The Brewery Bike Loop is made possible through a partnership with the Davis Bike Collective and Sudwerk Brewing Co., a German-style brewery and restaurant in operation since 1989.

Held on the last Sunday of each month, the ride lasts about three hours, give or take. It begins at Sudwerk, with 45-minute stops at Three Mile Brewing Co., Dunloe Brewing and Super Owl Brewing, and finishes back at Sudwerk. At the end, riders enjoy $1 off Sudwerk brews. You can do as much or as little as you like. Riders are broken up into two groups; the first is the full ride while the second is shorter.

The inaugural ride was Jan. 28, with subsequent rides held on Feb. 25 and March 31. The event is free, although prior registration on Eventbrite is requested. Information about upcoming rides will be posted online soon.
